For Max Malek, baking is more than a profession — it is a lifelong passion built on tradition, dedication, and the joy of sharing something delicious with others.

Max began his baking journey in Düsseldorf, Germany, where he developed his skills and learned the art of traditional European baking. Through years of hands-on experience, he perfected the techniques that make great pastries special: carefully prepared dough, rich buttery layers, authentic recipes, and the patience to get every detail right.

In 1997, Max earned his Master Baker certification in Germany, a proud milestone that recognized his skill and commitment to the craft.

In 2000, Max immigrated to the United States, bringing with him his European baking traditions, years of experience, and a dream of sharing the flavors he loved with a new community. He continued refining his craft, drawing inspiration from German baking traditions and French pastry techniques.

Eventually, that dream became Just Baked Bakery in Fairfax, Virginia.
